The rules, data practices, and payment terms for using stashvote.

These Terms govern your use of stashvote, a Chrome extension and website developed and operated by an individual developer based in Singapore.

1. What stashvote is

stashvote lets you save items while browsing, share a link, and let friends vote Yes, Maybe, or No — no account needed.

Anyone who receives a shared link can view and vote on that shortlist without creating an account. Shortlists you keep private can't be viewed by anyone else. Nobody needs an account, including people who create shortlists.

2. Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use stashvote, whether saving items, sharing a shortlist, or voting on one.

3. Free use

You can create up to 3 new shortlists per day, with further limits on how many can be shared from one network and how many items each can hold, with full access to saving, sharing, and voting. This limit may be raised over time as the project gets support. There are no paid plans.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use stashvote to save, share, or vote on unlawful, abusive, or harmful content, and not to attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service.

Some websites, such as adult, piracy, gambling, and scam sites, can't be saved at all. Anyone can report a shared shortlist, and we may remove any shortlist or block any website that breaks these rules, without notice.

5. Warranty & liability

stashvote is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the extension or website.

6. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, regardless of where you access stashvote from. Any dispute will be handled under Singapore law.

7. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

This policy explains what stashvote collects and why. We collect the minimum needed to make saving, sharing, and voting work. stashvote is developed by an individual developer based in Singapore, and is available to users worldwide.

1. Data from saved items

When you save an item with the extension, we store the page title, URL, image, price (if detected), and source website for that item, tied to the shortlist you added it to.

When you share a shortlist, we store a one-way hash of your IP address (never the address itself) to stop the service being flooded with shortlists from one network.

2. Data from voting

When you vote on a shared link, we store your vote (Yes/Maybe/No) and a randomly generated guest ID used only to let you change or remove your own vote later. We do not require a name, email, or account to vote.

3. Data kept in your browser

The extension keeps your shortlists and a randomly generated owner ID in your browser's local storage. The owner ID is what lets only you edit your shortlists, without an account. Uninstalling the extension removes this local data.

4. Feedback and reports you send

If you send feedback through the extension or website, we store your message, its category, and your email address if you choose to include one. We use this only to improve stashvote and, if you left an email, to reply to you.

If you report a shortlist, we store the reason, any details you add, and your voting guest ID, and use them only to review the report.

5. Tips

Tips are handled entirely by Buy Me a Coffee under its own privacy policy. We never see your payment details, only what Buy Me a Coffee shares with creators, such as your name and any message you leave.

6. Where data is stored

Data is stored with Supabase, our database provider. We do not sell your data to third parties, and we do not share it except with service providers needed to run stashvote (for example, Buy Me a Coffee if you choose to tip).

7. Extension permissions

The Chrome extension requests only the permissions needed to read the current page's title, URL, image, and price when you click Add Current Page — it does not track your browsing beyond that action.

8. Analytics

We don't use analytics or tracking tools on the website or in the extension. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first.

9. Your rights

Wherever you're located, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data at any time by contacting stashvote@outlook.com.

11. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

12. Singapore residents (PDPA)

You have the right to access and correct your personal data, and to withdraw consent for its collection, use, or disclosure, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.

13. Data retention

We keep your data only as long as needed to provide stashvote — Shared links close 7 days after they're shared, or after 3 days with no votes, whichever comes first. After that the shortlist can no longer be viewed or voted on through its link. Feedback is kept until it has been reviewed and is no longer needed.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes; the date below reflects the last update.

stashvote is free, so there's nothing to buy or refund. The only payments are optional coffee tips.

Tips are a voluntary show of support and are not tied to any feature or purchase, so they are non-refundable.
